Bajre ke dough se stuffed paneer balls, baked or fried

Ingredients:

For the Bajra Dough:

  • 1 cup bajra flour (pearl millet flour)
  • 1 tsp oil or ghee
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Warm water (as needed to knead the dough)

For the Stuffing:

  • 1 cup grated paneer
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp chaat masala
  • A pinch of garam masala

For Cooking:

  • Oil for frying (optional if baking)
  • Ghee or butter for brushing (if baking)

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Bajra Dough

  1. In a bowl, mix bajra flour and salt.
  2. Add warm water little by little and knead into a soft, pliable dough.
  3. Add a teaspoon of oil to make it smoother. Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Make the Paneer Stuffing

  1. Combine grated paneer, chopped green chili, coriander, cumin, and spices.
  2. Mix everything well to create a soft filling.

Step 3: Shaping the Balls

  1. Take a small portion of the bajra dough and flatten it into a disc.
  2. Place 1 tsp of paneer filling in the center.
  3. Carefully seal and roll into a smooth ball.

Step 4: Cooking

For Baking:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Place the balls on a greased baking tray.
  3. Brush with ghee or butter and bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden.

For Frying:

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Deep-fry the balls on medium heat until golden brown and crisp.
